Robert Anderson Irion (1804-1861) was a physician, surveyor and Republic of Texas Secretary of State. Irion was born in Tennessee, attended school in Kentucky abd practiced medicine in Mississippi before moving to Texas in 1832. He settled first in San Augustine and then in Nacogdoches, where he was elected senator to the First Congress of the Republic of Texas from 1836 to 1837.
